Pump Base Plates Water Treatment Plant

Impulse response tests were conducted on thebase platesof the vertical pumps used in the water treatment plant. The gap between the metal plate of the pump and the concrete foundation was supposed to becompletely filled with epoxy grout. There were some concerns regarding the grout condition and therefore tests were conducted to detect possible voids. Impulse response tests were conducted at 32 equally spaced locations along the circumference of each base plate. The results indicated non-uniform condition of the grout. Results were verified by observing the condition of the grout after removal of the pumps.
