| Evaluation of Existing Structures
|

Concrete Science, Inc. performs condition surveys of existing structures
to determine deterioration, if any, caused by environmental, chemical
and physical attacks (such as weathering or fire) or other accidents.
Once the condition survey is completed, we analyze the results, assess
the extent of the damage, and provide recommendations for remedial
measures to extend the life of the structure. In addition, specifications
are provided for the repair procedures at the client’s request. Our
past projects include buildings, bridges, tunnels, water treatment
plants and other structures.

| Nondestructive Testing
|
|
Concrete
Science, Inc. uses state-of-the-art nondestructive testing techniques
such as impact-echo, radar, and impulse response. Other well established
methods such as pulse velocity and pulse echo are also used on projects.
We measure corrosion potential of embedded reinforcing steel using
half-cell potential method and determine corrosion causing chloride
ion content in the concrete. These nondestructive or semi-intrusive
methods are very helpful in determining the internal condition of
concrete and masonry structures.
